LOVE GOD | WORSHIP
Part one of the JFUMC Journey
We will offer you a place to gather with other believers for worship that not only ushers you into God’s presence but also inspires you to go out into the world as a stronger, more committed ambassador for Christ.
Love God is the way we express the invitation to be with God in a real and personal way, and it includes worship services, prayer ministries, devotionals, and other areas that help you find your way to God.
First Worship
Sundays at 8:30 am in the Sanctuary.
Our traditional worship service is similar to the worship services that United Methodists have enjoyed for most of their 200 year history in the US. It follows an order of worship that includes traditional hymns, choral music, community prayers, and the creeds (statements of faith) of the church. It is a service that is both respectful and deeply spiritual, while also providing a level of comfort, peace, and joy. The dress for this service is casual, and children remain in the service (although a cry room is available at the back of the sanctuary and a nursery is provided for infants through four year old children). It begins at 8:35 am each Sunday and lasts about one hour.
First Praise
Sundays at 10:50 am in the Family Life Center.
This service not like many typical Methodist worship services. It is an upbeat worship time that features a rock-and-roll style band that leads contemporary Christian music, and frequently uses videos and drama to bring a twist to the theme of each service. The dress is very casual (blue jeans really are welcome, as well as shorts and other comfortable clothes).
First Encounter
Sundays at 10:50 am in the Sanctuary.
This service focuses on spiritual elements, such as silent prayer, prayer choruses, and weekly communion. The sermons try to reflect Jesus' own style of preaching by using stories, everyday objects, and parables to teach God's Word in today's world.
Nursery
Sundays from 8:15 - 12:15 am in the Children's Center.
We also offer nursery care for infants and toddlers each Sunday morning during worship and LIFE groups. We have a trained staff person who works with loving volunteers to provide a friendly, safe environment for our children. Children of any age are welcome in all our services, and are welcome to fully participate in worship and communion.
First Kids
Sundays at 10:50 am in the Children's Center.
We have an exciting worship service each Sunday designed for children from 4 years of age through third grade. Children of any age are welcome in all our services, and are welcome to fully participate in worship and communion.
